What to plan for at Tampa Bay locations

Aircraft, Ybor and afternoon storms

• Aircraft: MacDill Air Force Base is at the tip of South Tampa, Tampa International is beside Westshore and Peter O. Knight Airport is on Davis Islands. Military jets, airliners and small planes are part of the background around the bay, so expect to hold a take now and then.
• Ybor City: the streetcar rings its bell at every crossing and the roosters crow all day. Interviews in Ybor go better indoors.
• Downtown and the Riverwalk: boats on the Hillsborough River, events at Curtis Hixon Park and game nights at the arena change how loud downtown is from one day to the next. It is worth checking the event calendar before you lock a location.
